ArTea – How to Understand an Artwork | 18 Oct. 2026, 11:00–12:30

How do you begin to understand an artwork beyond simply deciding whether you like it?

In this ArTea session, Emma He, founder of HeLai Art Gallery and a professional art curator, will guide guests through the exhibition currently on view at the gallery.

Using selected works from the exhibition, she will introduce practical ways to look at art — from composition, colour and material to context, intention and interpretation — and show how these elements can help us read a work more closely.

The session is designed as an open and conversational introduction to art appreciation, with plenty of space for questions and discussion.

A cup of tea and a small selection of paired snacks will be served.
